IGS – Use of Blogs or Wikis

Acceptable Use Policy

As part of the use of a school based learning blog or wiki you agree to the following usage protocols.

Acceptable use

• I will not break any laws or download/distribute copyright material that I don’t own.

• I will not harass anyone or send anything obscene.

• I will not put myself or others at risk [including posting personal details, images or video online] or discriminate against anyone.

• I will not bring the school’s name into disrepute.

• I will tell the teacher if I see other students using strange or inappropriate material.

• I will act with honesty, integrity and respect for the rights and privacy of others, including other users of the Internet.

• I will notify a staff member immediately if I find materials or users that are likely to cause harm to or upset other students.

• I will use appropriate and polite language.

• As we think it’s necessary, we will monitor your usage.

• In all that you do on line as part of a school based activity you are subject to school rules.
